I remember how when I was a child watching a movie in a theatre with my family, the action or the horror sequence was so intense that my heart would be racing, and I had a problem breathing. At such times, I would close my eyes and remind myself that I was in a dark theatre and that nothing was really happening to me.

Are what distressed us unnecessary distractions?

Nothing in our lives makes any long-lasting sense. Why are we here? What is the purpose? What is the meaning of our individual lives? What is the point of blue sky? Whatever we do seems to take us farther away from our native awareness.

Can we be immovable while adrift in the void? Can we close our eyes and turn to the natural stillness within?
